An interior permanent magnet synchronous motor with a skew-slot and improved rotor structure is proposed in the paper. The source and main order of the noise of the motor are analyzed. The electromagnetic characteristics of the motor before and after utilizing the new structure are analyzed and compared. In addition, the vibration and noise tests of the prototype are done. The results show that the main source of noise of the 8-pole 48-slot motor is the 0-order electromagnetic force, and the motor with low vibration noise can be achieved with the proposed structure in this paper.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
