La presente investigación tiene como objetivo evaluar el comportamiento espacial del índice bioclimático Temperatura Efectiva Equivalente en Cuba con objeto de conocer el espectro de sensaciones térmicas a la que está expuesta la población cubana. Para esto se calcula la Temperatura Efectiva Equivalente utilizando los datos trihorarios de 62 estaciones meteorológicas en el período 1981-2010 y se emplean métodos de modelación espacial basados en técnicas estadísticas y geoestadísticas apoyadas en los Sistemas de Información Geográfica. Los resultados confirman que en Cuba el rango diurno de las sensaciones térmicas según este índice bioclimático varía en dependencia de la época del año. Las mañanas del período poco lluvioso se caracterizan por ser generalmente frescas y en menor medida resultan frías o muy frías, en cambio, las tardes de mayo a octubre son generalmente calurosas llegando a ser muy calurosas en los meses de julio y agosto. Las características espaciales más contrastantes de las sensaciones térmicas en el país se presentan en función del efecto del relieve del terreno y la distancia a las costas, encontrándose las zonas más confortables desde el punto de vista térmico hacia el occidente y zonas montañosas del país.
