Abstract. In practice, we deal with static designed couples frequently. Construction engineers use them so they can upscale rigidity of product. In paper are described principles how to change after effects of problematic assembly in often used feed couples which use to be statically designed. Important problem in assembly is repeatable precision, mainly in construction of assembly lines. By imprecision of robot which inserting shank into the hole and by imprecision of position of hole in carrier shank won't be successfully inserted. In article are shown reasons and security approach of repeatable precision in assembly operations executing.
Abstract. This paper deals with assumption that simulation is the only reliable method for manufacturing and assembly systems profiling. Simulation is essential software tool that improve design and planning of complex automated manufacturing and assembly systems. Systems with high level of complexity need to be tested even before they are constructed in real manufacturing plant.
The engineering production is currently characterized by frequent changes. These changes are caused because the life cycle of products is shortened. Producers must introduced the upgraded products in a shorter interval. In this article we will focus on identifying the possibilities of production innovation in the flexible manufacturing system. An analysis of the production possibilities of one of the production machines in the flexible production system will be carried out. This production machine is a lathe that produces one basic part of the finished product. We will determine what variants of this component can be manufactured without changing the physical configuration of the machine.
Assembly plays a decisive role in global production in terms of its share in the total costs of the products assembled and in terms of the number of people working in the field. The author of (1) indicates that the percentage of the workers in assembly out of the total number of the workers in manufacturing in the U.S.A. ranged from 26.3% (bicycles) to 45.6% (automobiles), while the cost of the product assembly represented typically more than 50% of the total costs. Despite the above-mentioned importance of assembly in the industry, the discontinuous production processes have not been paid adequate attention until recently. It was sufficient to manufacture parts and then an operative reasonably and inexpensively assembled each product manually. The authors of this paper would like to emphasise “the method of a systemic approach” which focuses upon identifying the key activities to meet the objective. Harmonious interrelations of the activities are often a source of greater profit than in a system where some activities are of the top level while the others are neglected (2). The aim of this paper is to describe theoretical aspects of all the typical activities of the assembly system.
At present, biomaterials are used in several sectors of medicine such as implant manufacturing, tissue engineering, orthopedic and prosthetic aids, drug delivery systems and many others. The use of biomaterials is increasingly related to the additive manufacturing (AM) of various medical devices and aids.
Biomaterials and their use in medicine are important not only in terms of their biocompatibility and direct effect on the human organism, but also in terms of their biodegradability, processability and non-toxicity to the environment either during their production or during their processing after use.
Bioplastics of the type Polylactic acid (PLA) appears to be a suitable biomaterials for use in a variety of medical applications in conjunction with an AM process. For this reason, this article discusses 1) description and use of biomaterials in medical applications 2) AM and biomaterials 3) key properties and uses of PLA bioplastics in medicine and 4) the specific AM of an orthopedic corset made of PLA and its benefits.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
