RESUMO - Azospirillum brasilense EFFICIENCY IN COMBINATION WITH DOSES OF NITROGEN IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF MAIZEABSTRACT -This study aimed to evaluate the effect of the use of diazotrophic bacterium Azospirillum brasilense inoculated to seeds in combination with nitrogen on the development of corn plants. The experiment was carried out in field using a randomized block design in a double factorial arrangement with four reapplications.. The factor 1: with and without the bacterium application in the seed; and factor 2: six nitrogen doses: 0, 80, 105, 130, 155 and 180 kg ha -1 .The trangenic maize hybrid 2B587 Hx was used. The morphological evaluations of plant and ear were done at 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 days after emergence (DAE). Grain yield was measured at 115 DAE. The application of diazotrophic bacterium Azospirillum brasilense solution via the seeds, with or without synthetic nitrogen did not interfere with plant development and yield of maize. The adoption of this practice does not replace the use of nitrogen fertilizers nor allows dose reduction. The addition of nitrogen fertilizers promotes greater plant growth and increased productivity.
Yield components and morphology of cassava roots under different tillage AbstractIn order to evaluate the effect of minimum tillage, conventional tillage and no-tillage on yield components and the morphology of roots of sweet cassava cv. IAC 576-70 was conducted a field experiment in randomized blocks design with split plot with six replications. The different tillages: minimum tillage, conventional tillage and no-tillage plots were considered the plots and the evaluation time, in days after planting, were considered the subplots. In this experiment were mensured the number, length, diameter, fresh and dry weight, dry matter content and morphological characteristics of cassava roots at different sampling times. From the results of these assessments it was concluded that the soil tillage influence root diameter, fresh and dry weight, in the early dormancy phase and new period of vegetative growth, the soil tillage did not influence the chronological definition of the yield component as well as the morphology of cassava roots and the yield components of sweet cassava cv. IAC 576-70 are defined in the following order, number of roots, length, diameter, dry matter content, fresh and dry weight.
Maize and Brachiaria decumbens under different soil tillage in farmingpasture integration. Conservation tillage and production systems that aim to maximize soil and water use in a sustainable form have become alternatives for regions that have relatively short periods of rain and high temperatures. The objective of this research was to evaluate intercropping systems with maize and Brachiaria that have better adaptation to the edaphoclimatic conditions of the "Zona da Mata" region, state of Alagoas. The treatments consisted of a BRS 3150 hybrid of maize, cultivated in the following systems: Conventional Cropping, Minimum Cultivation and No-tillage (BRS 3150 intercropped with Brachiaria decumbens). The design used was randomized block with subdivided plots. Soil samples were collected for chemical analysis. Production components and grain yield were also evaluated. The different soil managements and the use of Brachiaria decumbens in an intercropping system with maize did not affect production components. The result analysis allowed the conclusion that the use of Brachiaria decumbens had a negative influence on maize yield when cultivated in an intercropping system, with the higher yield obtained in conservations systems.
