IntroduçãoO jambu (Acmella oleracea [(L.) R. K. Jansen]) é uma hortaliça folhosa, pertencente à família das Asteraceas, com origem amazônica e tem hábito de crescimento herbáceo, podendo chegar a 60cm de comprimento. Possui extrema importância na região Norte do Brasil devido à culinária, porém vem ganhando destaque no resto do país devido ao espilantol, um princípio ativo que garante uma sensação de formigamento após a sua ingestão. Vem ganhando destaque também na indústria farmacêutica e de cosméticos devido ao seu efeito relaxante, sendo utilizado para a produção de relaxante muscular facial e no tratamento de anemia e infecções (GUSMÃO & GUSMÃO, 2013).Na região Norte do país diversos acessos de A. oleracea podem ser encontrados, os quais possuem características morfológicas que os tornam diferentes, como coloração de caule, formato e tamanho de folhas e inflorescências, hábito de crescimento.Na região metropolitana de Belém são encontrados dois acessos, os quais são denominados:Flor Roxa e Tapanã. O primeiro, comercializado nas feiras livres e supermercados, apresenta folhas de coloração verde pálido ou intenso, ramos verdes que podem apresentar uma tonalidade roxeada e inflorescências alongadas com halo roxo. O segundo foi encontrado no bairro do Tapanã, em Belém, e não tem comercialização na cidade, possui folhas de cor verde intensa,
