ABSTRACTThis paper presents the concept sustainability in construction, where the construction industry, particularly the building sector, has a high interconnection with environment, society and economy. Energy plays an important role in the world, where most of our energy comes from fossil fuels, these reserves are limited and their exploitation becomes unsustainable. With the increase in energy consumption in recent years, especially in developed countries, largely in the domestic sector has increased dependence on fossil fuels, thus increasing the need to invest in alternative energy, one of the alternatives is solar energy Thermal. Therefore, this work has as main objective the current situation of the solar energy for water heating, and report the types of solar systems for heating water, identifying its functions and runs. Being the most used for solar thermal collectors open, closed and evacuated tubes.
