The study was based on field rnapping and descliptive-kinematic structural analysis of faults, brittle slrear zones, tilted strata and joint systents, which are post-depositional in relation to the outcropping sedimentary section. The Quatigurí high is a dorr'ìic strttcttue that affects palaeozoic rocks of tûe Parairá Basin. It presents cilculal geomelry in niap and is palt of a regional positive-flower-stluctule, associated to NE basement faults, by Guatá arrd Passa Dois groups, all of them intruded by basic intrusive rocks lelated to the Juro-Cretaceous Seu'a Gelal basaÌt flooding event. has resulted from a combination ofleftlateral ÑE wlench faults, evolved during Permian-Triassic lirnit, and NW extetìsional faults to riglttlatelal NE transtensional faults duling Mesozoic. The basic lnagmatislì1 was plobably lelated to this second deformation event.
