RESUMO: Estudou-se a tecnica de utiliza�o do cateter heparinizado, atraves de entrevistas com profissionais da enfermagem encarregados da administra�o de drogas em hospitais de 8elo Horizonte, incl uindo concentra�o da dilui�o, volume injetado, destin� do resta nte da solu�o, exist�ncia de padroniza�o e conhecimento a respeito de indica9ao e contra indica9ao. Verificou-se que hB pouco conhecimento refere nte as situa90es em que 0 usa do cateter heparinizado e indicado e contra indicado assim como a fa lta de padroniza�o e embasamento cientffico. ABSTRACT:We studied the methods of a heparinized catheter utilization, through intervening nursing staff in charge on drugs administration, in hospitals located in the city of 8elo Horizonte , including the concentration of the dilution, the administered volume, the destination of the rest of the solution, the existence of a padronization and the knowledge about the indication and contraindication for the use of this drug. We verified that there is little knowledge concerning the situations in which the utilization of a heparinized catheter is indicated and contraindicated , as well as a lack of a padronization and of a scientific fu ndament.
