population, this textbook may support initiatives to revive the interest on the subject from students that seem more interested in understanding the real world than spending time in mathematical abstractions. This does not mean that the book lacks rigor. To the contrary, the analysis is empirically grounded and analytically sound, but the presentation is unpretentious, rendering it userfriendly and likely to attract the interest of young students confronting the subject for the first time.
