This study aims to provide information about the research-trends in the area of Geospatial Information using text-mining methods. We derived the National R&D Reports and papers from NDSL(National Discovery for Science Leaders) site. And then we preprocessed their key-words and classified those in separable sectors. We investigated the appearance rates and changes of key-words for R&D reports and papers. As a result, we conformed that the researches concerning applications are increasing, while the researches dealing with systems are decreasing. Especially, with in the framework of the keyword, '3D-GIS', 'sensor' and 'service' xcept ITS are emerging. It could be helpful to investigate research items later.
Construction automation based on information and communication technology(ICT) has been studied for improving productivity in the construction industry. This study investigates domestic research trends in ICT-based construction automation using text mining techniques. The results show that 'Technology to collect and analyze project progress(26%)' and 'Technology to analyze and apply the automation element of construction machinery(28%)' are the major research area. The word of 'construction information' is showed as important keywords in the area of 'Technology to collect and analyze project progress', and researches focusing on resource management, site management, information management, and real-time information monitoring have been mainly conducted. The word of 'ubiquitous' is shown as important keywords in the area of 'Technology to analyze and apply the automation element of construction machinery', and researches focusing on ubiquitous information management, ubiquitous site management, and measurement system have been mainly conducted.
City is currently developing into intelligent city which adopts the ICT technology to resolve the problems and increase the competitiveness. This intelligent city is promoted under the name of U-City or Smart City, yet it is also criticized in the trend for what the differences between U-City and Smart City are. In this study, we draws the differences between U-City and Smart City from our distinctive research method, text mining which analyzes the trend of research papers, and contribute to direction of U-City study in the future. Through this analysis, the study results in that U-City focuses practical implementation in domestic cities while Smart City focuses technological development and provision of single service. However, this paper has a limitation as the subjective opinion was reflected to configure the sets of keywords, and only keywords and abstracts were analyzed. Therefore, further studies are needed to confirm the differences between U-City and Smart City with related research papers and reports.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
