Cancer stem cells (CSCs) play a vital role in the formation of tumors and have been studied as a target of anticancer therapy. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are important in the genesis and progression of cancer. Various lncRNAs, such as ROR, HOTAIR, H19, UCA1, and ARSR, are involved in cancer stemness. These lncRNAs could regulate the expression of CSC-related transcriptional factors, such as SOX2, OCT4, and NANOG, in colorectal, prostate, bladder, breast, liver, and other cancer types. In this work, we review the progress of lncRNAs and cancer stem cells and discuss the potential signal pathways of lncRNAs in cancer stemness.
Herein, we describe an example of catalytic asymmetric synthesis of sulfinamides. Aromatic sulfenamides were chosen as useful substrates, because of the indispensable N−H bond, which could form an efficient hydrogen bond with chiral phosphoric acid. H 2 O 2 (35%) was used as the terminal oxidant for preparation of sulfinamides in high yields and enantioselectivities, which could be easily derivatized to sulfoxides and other sulfinamides without loss of the enantioselectivity.
A chiral Pd -catalyzed cascade sp C-H functionalization/intramolecular asymmetric allylation reaction is reported. A new chiral sulfoxide-oxazoline (SOX) ligand bearing single chiral center on the sulfur was identified as the optimal ligand for the reaction, being efficient both in the C-H cleavage step and the stereocontrol of the allylation step. The broad scope of this method with respect to aryl ureas and 1,3-dienes enables the rapid construction of valuable chiral indoline derivatives with high yields and enantioselectivities (up to 99 % yield, up to 95:5 e.r.).
Crystals of γ‐HNIW were transformed into crystals of ε‐HNIW by application of a drowning‐out process in the presence of different additives, namely ethylene glycol, triacetin, and aminoacetic acid. They show different effects on the crystal morphology of ε‐HNIW and cause less angular and more regular structures. Investigation of the sensitivities of the different ε‐HNIW crystals shows that their angles and regularity have an influence on the impact sensitivity. Aminoacetic acid selectively inhibits the growth of individual ε‐HNIW crystal faces to modify the morphology into spherical shape, these ε‐HNIW crystals are of much lower sensitivity, even compared with general RDX and HMX explosives.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
