A hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC) aqueous solution has been attracting attention as an electrically color-changeable reflector. The purpose of this study is to shorten the preparation time of HPC aqueous solution. By the conventional method, preparation takes more than three weeks, because the HPC solution has a high viscosity. We provide a novel preparation method for HPC aqueous solution using an autoclave. The preparation duration was shortened to only three days. The uniformity of the selective reflection and reproducibility of the cell were also evaluated in this study.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
