In order to design and develop novel sock for soccer sports with good functionality, we investigated how to prevent the Impact slippage of sport sock. Five commercial sock for soccer sports was prepared. Based on the specification of commercial sock, five prototypes of sock were also prepared as samples. These samples differed in terms of the location of the inserted elastic yarn: the entire leg or the upper, middle, and lower areas. Then the impact slippage of sock was evaluated with own testing method for impact slippage of sock in dry and wet condition respectively. The clothing pressure with each sock in wearing at leg mannequin was also measured. In addition, the number of drops required to reach at 120 mm in distance of impact sock slippage was measured with leg guard which is required to use in regulation of soccer sports. From the result, it was found that the inserting elastic yarn into the leg part of sock provided the higher clothing pressure . The higher clothing pressure worked, the shorter distance of slippage occurred in wet condition. In addition, the sock inserting elastic yarn into the middle area of leg part was assessed efficiency to reduce the impact sock slippage with the leg guard. In other word, it is expected that an interference with the motion of the ankle by a slack will be reduced, because increasing the clothing pressure at the middle area of the leg part caused less slackness at the ankle part.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
