The objective of this research is to identify which Emerald Library Science journals and articles in the field of library and information science have received high altmetric attention scores and citation scores. The study examines all LIS journals indexed by the Dimensions database as of 2022.The findings of this study reveal that the Journal of Documentation is the top-ranked journal, with 24 articles that have the highest dimensions score of 3485, AAS score of 1159, Mendeley score of 3227, and an impact factor of 1.96 over the past five years. Notably, this study found that Mendeley (12150) and Twitter (2313) were the most frequently used altmetric sources. It is also worth mentioning that the highest altmetric attention scores were observed in document journals, with an altmetric score of 1159 indicating the level of attention these articles received. Researcher Subject Categories majority was the members of the public at 1727(17.26%). And highest geographical data access from the United States had the highest number of accesses with 315 (3.15%).
Webology is prominent journal in the domain of information dissemination and communication process in general with various management aspects. The major purpose of the study is to present a bibliometric overview of the leading trend of the journal during 2006 to 2021. The present study uses the Scopus bibliographic database and retrieved total 393 publications and investigate publications growth, top prolific authors, top productive institutions, highly cited documents. Study also used visualization of similarities (VOS) viewer software and RStudio and generated graphical visualization for co-authorship-countries, co-citation of cited source titles, co-occurrence of keywords, trend topics, scientific thematic area map of Webology. The study findings indicate increasing growth of publications in last two years. India, Iran and Indonesia leading in contribution of scientific publications in the journal and four institutions after Iran and three institutions from India found most productive in terms of total publications. The document entitled “Library 2.0 Theory: Web 2.0 and its implications for libraries by Maness J M” received 206 citations and secured top position. The VOSViewer© findings are coherent with the outcomes of the tables. “Citation analysis” “social media,” “Iran,” “open access,” “internet,” and “bibliometric,” were frequently used keywords in the journal and received maximum link strength. Journal trending with multiple topics like “social media”, “bibliometric”, “data mining”, “learning”, “ontology”, “big data”, “covid-19”, “altmetric” and “security” observed as hot topics in Webology journal. The findings of the present study primarily useful for those who track the Webology journal, as well as those who are devoted to the research in the domain of information and knowledge management, data analytics and word wide web.
21st century appears with digitization, industrialization, and globalization. The introduction of ICT changes the whole scenario. The working pattern changed in every field. Traditional working replaces by machine or internet. Work becomes easier and faster. To adapt this change is not easy for everyone. Considering the commerce library, researcher studied changes occur in library and information science field. The study includes the change in library source and service due to digitization and how libraries cope with the situation to exist. For finding the solution researcher adopts a survey method and collected data from 7 different commerce college libraries of Rajkot and their views will be studies on how they improve their skills to meet the challenges that occurred because of ICT and the barrier they faced to improve their skills and competencies.
Reading plays a vital role in life of a human. Reading provides experience through which the individual may expand his horizons of knowledge, identify, extend and intensify his interest and gains deeper understanding of himself, of other human beings and of the world. The study carried out to assess the reading habits of user of Sardar Patel University, VallabhVidyanagar, Anand, Gujarat. As a research tool; questionnaire was used for the data collection. Collected data were analyzed and tables were used to present the results of findings. Reading especially is a resource for continued education, for the acquisition of new knowledge and skills, for gaining information through media, especially newspapers, books, radio, television, and the computers. In this article investigator attempts to investigate the reading habits of users of the university.
