The carrier-gas-type organic chemical vapor deposition (CG-OCVD) and the molecular layer deposition were developed for orientation-controlled molecule-by-molecule growth of conjugated polymer wires on a surface with self-assembled monolayer (SAM), which provides a feasible way to construct self-organized three-dimensional polymer wire networks. It was also found that, in CG-OCVD, growth saturation occurs for a substrate without SAM while no growth saturation for a substrate with SAM. The analysis of results in terms of reaction site densities on surfaces suggests vertical wire growth on a substrate with SAM and horizontal wire growth on a substrate without SAM.
Since it is well known that the vibration characteristics such as the eigenperiod and the damping ratio of buildings are dependent on the amplitude of vibration. In this paper, these characteristics of the horizontal first mode, based on the seismic observation records obtained from the low and middle raised RC and SRC buildings, are studied. These characteristics are evaluated corresponding to the 2 amplitude levels, the small earthquake level and the middle earthquake level. The observation data are analyzed using the ARX model. The effects of the experience of large earthquakes and aging for each amplitude level are investigated.
In Osaka, the 40-story high-rise building with visco-elastic dampers was constructed in 1999. The structural frame of this building consists of steel girders and concrete filled steel tubular columns. Earthquake observation has been performed since the building completion. Many records have been observed. Then we made the earthquake response analysis was made using the three dimension frame model with the visco-elastic dampers which considered temperature and frequency dependency, and good correlations were obtained between the earthquake observation records and the analysis results. The vibration reduction effect of the damper was confirmed by comparing the analysis results of the model with dampers and the model with no damper. By comparing the analysis results of the condition that the temperature is quite different, it was confirmed that the vibration reduction effect of the damper has the difference.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
