After a single procedure of circumferential ablation with PVI and noninducibility, 82% patients did not have recurrence of AF. The inducibility of AF was related to the recurrence of AF. The atrial substrate affected the outcome of the inducibility.
The LA voltage was lower than the RA, and the atrial voltage correlated with the TAT. Electroanatomical remodeling of the atria could be crucial to the maintenance of AF. The LA substrate properties may play an important role in the recurrence of AF after catheter ablation of AF.
This is the first report of DMDS as an elicitor produced by an ISR-eliciting B. cereus strain and its ability to suppress plant fungal diseases under greenhouse conditions. It is suggested that DMDS has potential for practical use in controlling plant foliar diseases besides soil fumigation.
Scaffolds made of chitosan nanofibers are often too mechanically weak for their application and often their manufacturing processes involve the use of harmful and flammable organic solvents. In the attempt to improve the mechanical properties of nanofibrous scaffolds made of chitosan without the use of harmful chemicals, pectin, an anionic polymer was blended with chitosan, a cationic polymer, to form a polyelectrolyte complex and electrospun into nanofibers for the first time. The electrospun chitosan-pectin scaffolds, when compared to electrospun chitosan scaffolds, had a 58% larger diameter, a 21% higher Young's modulus, a 162% larger strain at break, and a 104% higher ultimate tensile strength. Compared to the chitosan scaffolds, the chitosan-pectin scaffolds' swelling ratios decreased by 55% after 60 min in a saline solution and more quickly released the preloaded tetracycline HCl. The L929 fibroblast cells proliferated slightly slower on the chitosan-pectin scaffolds than on the chitosan scaffolds. Nonetheless, cells on both materials deposited similar levels of extracellular type I collagen on a per DNA basis. In conclusion, a novel chitosan-pectin nanofibrous scaffold with superior mechanical properties than a chitosan nanofibrous scaffold was successfully made without the use of harmful solvents.
Following Chan and coworkers ' (2008) research, the current study integrated Hunt and Vitell's (1986) ethics perspective and Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) to present a model that explains consumers' intention to "Bring Your Own Shopping Bags" (BYOB) with grocery shopping. The proposed model is empirically validated in Taiwan. Based on a survey of 601 respondents, the findings suggest that consumers' deontological evaluation is positively related to their attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control, while teleological evaluation is positively related to perceived behavioral control only. In addition, the results also indicate that consumers' attitude and perceived behavioral control has a positive relationship with BYOB intention, while subjective norm does not have a signification relationship with BYOB intention. In sum, this study contributes to the literature by providing insights for applying general ethics and theory of planned behavior to explain consumers' BYOB behavior. The results also provide policy makers guidelines regarding BYOB. Managerial implications and research limitations are discussed at the end of this paper.
