Postural change in intraocular pressure was measured similarly, on average, with Goldmann applanation tonometer and Pneumatonometer, and much lower with Tonopen and Icare Pro. There was poor interdevice agreement in measuring this parameter. We observed high intersubject variability, suggesting the clinical importance of this measurement in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma.
The problem of bacterial infections in general,a nd in medicald evices in particular,h as led to extensive research to produce antibacterial coatings. The current research presents au nique technique for imparting antibacterial properties to contact lenses. The coating consists of nanoparticles of zinc-doped coppero xide. In the coating process, active nanoparticles are formed and immediately depositedo nto the surfaceo ft he contact lens. The coating thus formed is homogeneous and stable, withoutl eaching of the nanoparticles. The antibacterial activity was evaluated against Grampositivea nd Gram-negative bacteria. The optimization of the coating processh as led to as maller particle size and good antibacterial activity.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
