ARTICLES INFORMATION AbstractThe purpose of the study is to analyze the influence of executive character and corporate governance dimensions on tax avoidance in manufacturing companies that listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange Period 2012-2016. The samples of this study is 30 companies that selected by using purposive sampling method. The results of this study shows that: Executive characters positive effect on tax avoidance. Independent commissioners not effect on tax avoidance. The audit committee not effect on tax avoidance. Audit quality positive effect on tax avoidance.
PENDAHULUANPajak sebagai sumber penerimaan negara yang sangat besar yang diperoleh dari Wajib Pajak dan Badan dengan tidak mendapat timbal balik secara langsung, bersifat memaksa dan dipungut berdasarkan Undang-undang. Menurut Kurniasih & Sari (2013) pajak merupakan hal yang menjadi perhatian penting karena beban pajak akan mengurangi laba bersih dan sudah menjadi rahasia umum perusahaan menginginkan pembayaran pajak seminimal mungkin. Oleh karena itu, perusahaan melakukan upaya efisiensi pembayaran pajak dengan meminimalkan beban pajak dalam batas yang tidak melanggar aturan melalui aktivitas penghindaran pajak. Salah satu penghindaran pajak yang dilakukan wajib pajak adalah tax avoidance, yaitu upaya penghindaran pajak secara legal yang tidak melanggar peraturan perpajakan yang dilakukan wajib pajak dengan cara berusaha mengurangi jumlah pajak terutangnya dengan mencari kelemahan peraturan (loopholes) (Dewi dan Jati, 2014).Fenomena penghindaran pajak yang terjadi di Indonesia dimuat di berita online (www.cnnindonesia.com) pada tanggal 28 Maret 2016 oleh Elisa Valenta Sari, menginformasikan bahwa
