Subject. The article investigates trends and prospects for poultry farming development at the regional level. Objectives. The purpose is to study the condition of poultry farming in the region, identify development trends, design mechanisms for government support for poultry farming. Methods. The study employs monographic, abstract-logical, statistical, and analytical methods. Results. In the Republic of Dagestan, the poultry production is concentrated in private farm households. This fact reduces the competitiveness of the sub-sector. The study establishes that there is a significant potential for increasing the production volumes of the industry. The bank capital practically does not participate in the modernization of poultry farming in the region, in part because of unfavorable credit history of most economic entities and insufficient collateral. Against the background of low rates of attracting private investment, there is an urgent need for State support for the industry. Conclusions. We propose a set of reasonable measures to stimulate State support for poultry farming in the region, including through improving the forms and methods of scientific and innovative support, linking the forms of the support with the achievement of established development indicators. The paper determines the need for introducing State support to stimulate the industry’s transfer of industrial basis.
Subject. The article investigates the state and development prospects for nurseries of perennial fruit and berry plantations. Objectives. Our aim is to explore the current state of fruit tree nurseries in Russia, identify trends and directions of government incentives for their development. Methods. The study draws on abstract-logical, monographic, systems, comparative, economic, statistical, and other methods of economic research. Results. We show that the level of fruit tree nursery development does not adequately respond to the demands of intensively growing horticulture. Over one third of planting materials are imported. The ranking of the country's regions by the volume of planting material demonstrates that the greatest number of seedlings is in the Krasnodar Krai and the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. However, only 25% of gardens of the Krasnodar Krai use the planting material produced in the region. Conclusions. We unveiled trends in the fruit tree nursery development by subject of the Russian Federation; substantiated the importance of introducing differentiated subsidy rates for perennial fruit and berry plantations, applying an increasing factor, when domestic planting material is used.
The article examines the organizational and economic aspects of the development of protected ground vegetable growing in the Republic of Dagestan, its potential and prospects for further development. It has been established that protected ground vegetable growing has been intensively developed at the regional level in recent years, mainly in the sector of private farms of the population. It is revealed that relatively large greenhouse farms are also created on the basis of personal farmsteads, because of this, the products they produce are not recorded and labor relations with employees are not properly registered. The necessity of taking management measures to ensure the gradual official registration of greenhouses on the basis of personal subsidiary farms with an area of 0.5 hectares or more with their transfer to business structures of agribusiness is justified. Ways to implement this work are suggested. Proposals have been put forward for state support of greenhouse vegetable production, including reimbursement of part of energy costs from the regional budget.
