Abstract:The main objective of this paper is to evaluate the land use change in Dhaka City based on the need and purpose to predict future scenario of Dhaka City. Dhaka being a mega city has been challenged by numerous difficulties like unplanned urbanization, traffic congestion, water logging etc. Land use classification and analysis is performed using a GIS and Remote sensing technique, and GIS aided 'Markov Cellular Automata' technique is used to model the land use change. Based on the past trend (from 1991 to 2008) of land use changes, the future land use map of Dhaka city for the year of 2020 and 2050 has been generated. And collected maps and images were sorted and classified for analysis and interpretation. Landsat TM image of 1991 and Google image of 2008 were employed in this study to produce land use classification based on Anderson modified version method. IDRISI, Land Change Modeler (LCM) was used to analyze the land use/cover changes between various classes during the period 1991-2008. It is assumed that this kind of research will contribute to shaping the urban form of the city in a planned manner. So, that Dhaka can be a much more livable and planned city in near future. Key words:Land use, land use change, land use modeling. mvivsk: M ‡elYv cÖ e ‡Üi gj D ‡Ïk¨ n ‡jv fwg e¨env ‡ii cÖ ‡qvRb I D ‡Ï ‡k¨i wfwË ‡Z fwel¨r XvKv kn ‡ii wPÎ Zz ‡j aivi Rb¨ XvKv kn ‡i fwg e¨env ‡ii cwieZ© b gj¨vqb Kiv| gnvbMi wn ‡m ‡e XvKv kni wewfboe iKg mgm¨v †gvKv ‡ejv Ki ‡Q †hgb AcwiKwíZ bMivqb, hvbhU, Rjve×Zv BZ¨vw`| eZ© gvb cÖ e ‡Ü GIS Ges Remote sensing c×wZi gva¨ ‡g XvKv kn ‡ii fwg e¨env ‡ii †kª YxKiY I we ‡k− lY Kiv n ‡q ‡Q Markov Cellular Automata bvgK g ‡Wj e¨envi K ‡i fwel¨r fwg e¨env ‡ii wPÎ Zz ‡j aivi †PlUv Kiv n ‡q ‡Q| AZx ‡Zi fwg e¨env ‡ii cwieZ© ‡bi avivi wfwË ‡Z 2020 Ges 2050 mv ‡ji Rb¨ XvKv kn ‡ii fwel¨r gvbwPÎ ˆZwi Kiv n ‡q ‡Q| msM" wnZ gvbwPÎ I B ‡gR¸wj hvPvB-evQvB Gi wfwË ‡Z we ‡k− lY I e¨vLv Kiv n ‡q ‡Q| eZ© gvb M ‡elYvq Anderson cwieZ© xZ †kª YxKiY c×wZi gva¨ ‡g 1991 mv ‡ji Landsat TM Ges 2008 mv ‡ji Google B ‡gR e¨envi K ‡i fwg e¨env ‡ii †kª Yx wefvM Kiv n ‡q ‡Q| 1991-2008 Gi g ‡a¨ wewfboe †kª Yxi fwg e¨env ‡ii cwieZ© ‡bi wPÎwU IDRISI, Land Change Modeler (LCM) Gi gva¨ ‡g we ‡k− lY K ‡i GKwU fwg cwieZ© ‡bi wPÎ Zz ‡j aiv n ‡q ‡Q| g ‡b Kiv n ‡"Q eZ© gvb M ‡elYv djvdjwU XvKv kni ‡K my cwiKwíZ Dcv ‡q GKwU gnvbM ‡ii iƒc`v ‡b mnvqZv Ki ‡e| d ‡j A`y i fwel¨ ‡Z XvKv gnvbMi GKwU cwiKwíZ, ¯v¯'Ki I emevm †hvM¨ gnvbM ‡i cwiYZ n ‡e|
Handwritten character recognition complexity varies among different languages due to distinct shapes, strokes and number of characters. Numerous works in handwritten character recognition are available for English with respect to other major languages such as Bangla. Existing methods use distinct feature extraction techniques and various classification tools in their recognition schemes. Recently, Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) is found efficient for English handwritten character recognition. In this paper, a CNN based Bangla handwritten character recognition is investigated. The proposed method normalizes the written character images and then employ CNN to classify individual characters. It does not employ any feature extraction method like other related works. 20000 handwritten characters with different shapes and variations are used in this study. The proposed method is shown satisfactory recognition accuracy and outperformed some other prominent exiting methods.
The article examines the various ways to ensure land rights and also recommends different mechanism to settle land dispute. It is also intended to highlight the problems of present land administration of Bangladesh and to suggest the reformation of the land administration for proper management of land. Land turns around the life of the people of Bangladesh. The present land laws, land administration and land management in Bangladesh are not only full of intricacy, procedural difficulties and mismanagement but also not accessible and responsive to the interest of the common people of the country. Furthermore, the present mechanism to settle land dispute is not time saving, cost effective, peaceful and sophisticated. If the land laws are made public spirited and land administration is made well-structured in the sense of good governance, e-governance and development, land interest of the common people is upheld and land disputes are settled with public satisfaction and confidence, a revolutionary change may bring about in the socioeconomic development of the common people.
