This paper considers the error performance of an uncoded multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) wireless system with antenna selection at the transmitter and maximal ratio combining (MRC) at the receiver end. Exact closed-form expressions are derived for symbol error probability of the aforementioned scheme in independent and identically distributed (i.i.d) Nakagami-m fading channels.
SUMMARYNew expressions are derived for the exact symbol error probability for the optimum combining of M-ary phase shift keying (MPSK) signals over dual-antenna diversity reception. A flat Rayleigh fading environment with multiple equipower cochannel interferers and additive white Gaussian noise is considered. The derived expressions facilitate the numerical computation as they only depend on wellknown mathematical functions. Also, a simple tight approximation is proposed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
