The present paper presents an experimental investigation of the clinical diagnostic potentialities of the CVS scale (see ^W22:^n 3032). This scale consists of Comprehension and Similarities from the Wechsler-Bellevue scale and a 15-word Vocabulary list proposed by Thorndike. Experimental evidence shows that CVS exhibits some sensitivity to "deterioration" through a measure of interest scatter based on the discrepancy between vocabulary performance and that on comprehension and similarities. The test also performs satisfactorily as a screen test for mental deficiency.
