Les flux migratoires, dont les apports sont considérés par différentes études européennes comme l’une des conditions du maintien des équilibres démographiques, sont, de fait, soumis tant aux aléas économiques qu’aux conjonctures politiques. La citoyenneté, qui à terme, sanctionne les mobilités des acteurs des diverses formes de migrations, n’oblitère pas, y compris au plan du mouvement des générations, les déterminations culturelles ou religieuses des sociétés d’origine. Aussi bien, la question est-elle, entre autres, de s’interroger sur la manière dont les empreintes humaines de l’ancien Empire s’inscrivent dans la société métropolitaine.
