Arap Baharı'nın etkisiyle 2011'de yükselen seslerin önce ayaklanmalara sonrasında savaşa dönüşmesiyle Suriyelilerin farklı ülkelere zorunlu göçü başlamıştır. Savaş sonrası Türkiye'ye sığınan Suriyelilerin sayısı 2017 tarihinde üç buçuk milyona yaklaşmış olduğu görülürken günümüzde bu rakam 3.670.342 3 'ye ulaşmıştır. Başlarda savaşın kısa süreceği düşüncesiyle misafir olarak algılanan Suriyeli sığınmacılar, savaşın devam etmesi ve gelenlerin sayısının her geçen yıl artmasıyla kalıcı hale gelmiştir. Hazırlıksız bir şekilde kitlesel göç dalgasıyla karşı karşıya kalan Türkiye ve sığınan Suriyeliler için bu durum psikolojik, sosyo-kültürel, ekonomik ve hukuki açıdan toplumsal uyum sorunları beraberinde getirmiştir. Dolaysıyla bu çalışmada, bu sürecin getirdiği sorunlar kapsamında gelen Suriyelilerin bakış açılarıyla toplumsal uyum ele alınmaktadır. Çalışmanın asıl amacı, 2011'den 2017'e kadar geçen altı senede Sakarya'daki Suriyelerin bakış açılarına göre yerel halka uyumunun ne durumda olduğunu anlamaya yönelik bir çalışmadır. Araştırmanın kapsamında Sakarya'daki Suriyelilerin toplumsal uyumuna kültürleşme stratejilerinde yer alan göçmen gruplarının bakış açılarına dayalı entegrasyonun psikolojik, sosyo-kültürel, ekonomik ve hukuki boyutları yer almaktadır. Nitel araştırma yöntemiyle yürütülen çalışmada betimsel analiz kullanılmıştır. Sakarya'da en az 3 yıl geçiren 10-44 yaş aralığında 10 katılımcıyla Arapça-Türkçe şeklinde oluşturulmuş olan yarı yapılandırılmış mülakat formuyla görüşme sağlanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda Suriyelilerin Sakarya halkıyla uyumuna bakıldığında psikolojik, sosyo-kültürel ve hukuki açıdan toplumsal uyum olumlu olduğu edinilirken ekonomik boyutta katılımcıların kendilerini güvende hissetmedikleri anlaşılmıştır.
