Amaç-2008 yılındaki küresel finansal kriz döneminde Türkiye'deki katılım bankalarının konvansiyonel bankalarla performanslarının karşılaştırılmasıdır. Bu karşılaştırma ile katılım bankalarının kriz döneminde mevduat bankalarına nazaran nasıl bir yönetim anlayışına sahip oldukları belirlenmiştir. Bankaların yönetim anlayışı, ekonominin onlar tarafından nasıl göründüğünün bir göstergesidir. Yöntem-Söz konusu amacı sağlamak için dört katılım bankası ve dört konvansiyonel bankanın 2006-2012 arası finansal tabloları geleneksel finansal yöntemlerden biri olan mali oranlar (rasyo) ile analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar, grafik üzerinde karşılaştırılarak eğilim gözlenmiştir. Bulgular-katılım bankaları aktif karlılığı ve özkaynak karlılığı açısından dönem boyunca konvansiyonel bankalardan daha iyi durumdadır. Sadece, dönemin sonunda aktif karlılığında konvansiyonel bankalar, katılım bankalarına oldukça yaklaşmışlardır. Net karların değişimi açısından ise, katılım bankaları kısmen istikrarlı bir seyir izlerken, konvansiyonel bankalar oldukça dalgalı seyir izlemişlerdir. Bir iki dönem zarar ettikten sonra çok yüksek bir kar oranı yakalanması mümkün olmuştur. Tartışma-Burada elde edilen sonuçlar, benzer konuda yapılan çalışma sonuçları ile önemli oranda benzerlik göstermektedir. Bunlardan öne çıkan ise, karlılık ile ilgili göstergeler olmuştur. Bir başkası ise, katılım bankalarının takipteki krediler açısından konvansiyonel bankalardan daha iyi durumda olmasıdır. Buna karşılık, diğer çalışmalarda konvansiyonel bankaların dönemde verdikleri kredilerin önemli oranda azalması şeklinde bir sonuç ortaya çıkmıştır.
