Обґрунтована доцільність конвертування дизелів транспортних засобів у газові двигуни внутрішнього згорання з іскровим запалюванням. Показані переваги використання газових моторних палив, зокрема, зрідженого нафтового газу. Проаналізовані способи подачі та види впорскування зрідженого нафтового газу до впускного трубопроводу газового двигуна. Показано, що найпростішим способом переобладнання дизелів у газові двигуни є обладнання двигуна підсистемою живленням і подачі зрідженого нафтового газу до впускного трубопроводу через газоповітряний змішувач у поєднанні із застосуванням безконтактної електронної підсистеми запалювання з рухомим розподільником напруги. Такий спосіб переобладнання кваліфіковано як перший рівень складності, тобто рівень «А». Для обмеження максимальної частоти обертання газових двигунів, обладнаних згідно рівню «А» з двома підсистемами, розроблено і виготовлено електронний мікропроцесорний блок управління Avenir Gaz 37 «А». Описано принцип роботи блока управління Avenir Gaz 37 «А». Проведені випробування газового двигуна Д-240-LPG-«А» із електронним блоком управління Avenir Gaz 37 «А», які підтвердили його працездатність. Показано, що другому рівню складності переобладнання дизелів у газові двигуни відповідає обладнання двигуна акумулятивною підсистемою живлення та багатоточкового групового або послідовного впорскування зрідженого нафтового газу (типу Common Rail) у поєднанні із застосуванням безконтактної електронної підсистеми запалювання з рухомим розподільником напруги та підсистемою управління наповнення циліндрів зарядом робочої суміші. Такий спосіб переобладнання кваліфіковано як другий рівень складності, тобто рівень «В».
