The purpose of the article is to review and analyze the participation of libraries in the maintenance of modern research information management systems that provide scientists with the necessary digital services and effectively support digital scientific communication. The methodology of the study is a set of system analysis of changes in the providing of libraries to support research in the digital environment. The scientific novelty of the article is the generalization of key trends in the development of integrated library systems for supporting scientific activities and the development of the concept of the library portal of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Conclusions. Modern research information systems are an effective tool for managing research data. A critical aspect of supporting such systems is the quality of the data that librarians can provide at the appropriate level. The library portal of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, created and maintained by the Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine, built on the principles of integrated scientific information systems, will preserve and provide access to documentary heritage sources and modern sources of scientific information, provide a single access point to consolidated achievements academic science, will ensure the integration of portal metadata into international scientific information systems.
