This brief bibliographical review analyzes the genetic basis of violence. Ofrece muchas facetas que han sido el motivo de análisis y proposiciones de muchas disciplinas con sus particulares puntos de vista.En esta revisión bibliográfica pretendemos actualizar algunos hallazgos que apuntan preferentemente a los estudios genéticos recientes ya sea por investigaciones epidemiológicas o de biología molecular. E ARTÍCULO ORIGINALPor cierto que aparecen en primer lugar la insoslayable definición de lo que se entiende por Personalidad Psicopática Antisocial. Nos hemos adherido al concepto del DSM IV, que establece como característica esencial de este trastorno de la personalidad, la existencia de un modelo de conducta "que desprecia y viola los derechos de los demás y que comienza en la infancia o en la temprana adolescencia y que continua en la adultez". "Ellos pueden realizar actos que son causales de arresto, tales como, destruir la propiedad, atacar, robar o involucrarse en ocupaciones ilegales.
