La crisis de Ucrania iniciada en el 2013 con una serie de protestas en todo el país, acabó transformándose en un conflicto bélico que enfrenta militarmente a las Fuerzas Armadas Ucranianas y a las fuerzas separatistas de las autoproclamadas Repúblicas Populares de Lugansk y Donetsk. A pesar de ser un conflicto de baja intensidad ya se ha cobrado cerca de 10.000 vidas y corre el peligro de convertirse en uno de tantos conflictos estancados. Para saber cómo se ha llegado a este punto es necesario analizar los acontecimientos históricos y políticos de Ucrania, estudiar el papel de los nacionalismos en la región y sobre todo destacar la relación con Rusia en el espacio de influencia post-soviético.
