The article examines the flows of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean (LACB) for the period from 2010 to 2020. The sources of capital inflows, their structural components, as well as the distribution of attracted investments by sectors of the recipient countries ' economies are analyzed. Quantitative indicators of FDI inflows and outflows for individual countries and for the region as a whole are presented, highlighting general trends. The trend of a decrease in the volume of attracted FDI in the LACB is emphasized. It is concluded that the decrease in foreign direct investment in South American countries confirms the direct dependence of FDI inflows on macroeconomic conditions and fluctuations in world commodity prices. Changes are noted in the approaches of multinational corporations to invest capital abroad in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic in favor of their local or cross-border use. The assessment of the actions of the authorities of the states of the region to attract foreign investment is given. The article examines the situation in the field of unresolved investment disputes involving the countries of the region and its impact on investment attractiveness. The role of Chinese FDI in the region, including its effectiveness in political terms, is considered separately.
The article examines the state and prospects of development of Russia’s foreign trade relations with MERCOSUR. In the light of the West’s anti-Russian sanctions, the position of the bloc’s member states on the development of economic relations with our country is characterized. The assessment of the macroeconomic significance of MERCOSUR and the main directions of its trade policy is given. Quantitative indicators on the volumes and dynamics of bilateral foreign trade turnover, the structure of exports and imports of goods are given. Taking into account favorable prerequisites for expanding trade and economic cooperation, using the methodology of the International Trade Center of the UN Conference on Trade and Development, the potential for increasing exports of Russian goods to MERCOSUR countries is calculated. As part of the analysis of the possibilities of diversifying the range of supplies of Russian products based on the Hausmann-Klinger methodology, the most promising Russian goods for entering the MERCOSUR market are identified. In conclusion, there are considerations aimed at intensifying bilateral trade and economic ties against the background of Western sanctions.
The article discusses the state and prospects of development of trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Brazil. It also analyses areas in which cooperation would contribute to the creation of technological alliances and outlines considerations aimed at strengthening and expanding Russian-Brazilian economic relations.
The article examines the trade and economic relations of Latin American countries with individual non-regional partners represented by Japan, South Korea, India and Turkey. The main focus is on the evolution of the foreign economic relations of these countries with the Latin American region and the efforts of the governments of these states to develop them. The main features and trends of bilateral economic cooperation are revealed. The main indicators of trade and economic interaction of the studied countries with the Latin American region are given. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the situation with the conclusion of bilateral trade agreements. There is a clear desire on the part of Turkey to develop a dialogue with Latin American countries in the field of military-technical cooperation. A comparative analysis of the level and content of foreign economic relations with Latin America of the mentioned countries and Russia is carried out. It is concluded that recently there has been a noticeable intensification of trade and economic cooperation between Latin America and Japan, South Korea, India and Turkey, which creates certain challenges for the Russian Federation in terms of increasing the supply of export products to the region. In conclusion, a number of recommendations are formulated to increase the pace of cooperation between Russia and Latin-American countries in the context of increasing competition in the region from other states.

Quantitative indicators on the volumes and dynamics of bilateral foreign trade turnover, the structure of trade operations are given. The emphasis is placed on the strategic partnership and technological alliance of the two countries declared at the interstate level. The reasons hindering the development of bilateral cooperation are analyzed. The areas where cooperation would contribute to the creation of technological alliances are highlighted. The peculiarities of Brazil`s foreign trade policy are studied, including in relation to Russian products imported by the country. In comparative terms, the main economic indicators of the two countries are given. In conclusion, the views aimed at strengthening and expanding Russian-Brazilian economic relations are expressed. The relevance of the topic is due to the approved in 2018 the national project «International cooperation and Export», aimed at increasing Russian non-primary non-energy exports.
