Uzun bir tarihe ev sahipliği yapan İzmir'in kentsel gelişimi 17.yüzyıldan itibaren artmaya başlamış, 18. yüzyıl ve sonrasında sanayi devriminin de etkisiyle bir ticaret ve liman kenti olmuştur. Osmanlı'nın son dönemine kadar bu canlılığını koruyan İzmir, Kurtuluş Savaşı esnasında büyük yangınla yerle bir olmuş, Cumhuriyet döneminde bir ulusal kimlik bulma anlayışıyla yeniden şekillendirilmiştir. Cumhuriyet döneminde I. Ulusal Mimarlık Akımıyla İzmir'de birçok eser meydana gelmiştir. Akseki Han da bu akımın özelliklerini taşıyan eserlerden biridir. Binanın dış süslemesi Osmanlı Dönemi tarzını yansıtması bakımından önemlidir. Binada Kütahya çinileri kullanılmıştır. Bu araştırmada, yapıda karakteristik Kütahya çinilerinin yer aldığı dış cephe panoların durumu değerlendirilerek, hasar tespit planları oluşturulmuş ve çözüm önerileri sunulmuştur.
Birinci ulusal mimarlık akımıyla ortaya çıkan modernleşme hareketleri, dönemin neoklasik olarak adlandırılan eklektik sanat akımının da etkisiyle, Türkiye'de birçok kentte pek çok modern mimari yapının oluşmasını sağlamıştır. Cumhuriyetin ilk yıllarında Türkiye'nin birçok kentinde olduğu gibi İzmir'de de şehrin çehresini değiştiren bu türden binalar yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmada, dönemin neoklasik yapıları arasında en karakteristik örneklerinden biri olan ve tarihi belgelerde Elhamra Sineması olarak geçen Elhamra Sahnesi'nin, tarihsel geçmişi ve mimari özellikleriyle belgelemesi yapılmıştır. Ayrıca bu çalışmanın esas konusu olan yapının dış cephesinde yer alan çini süslemelerinin tarihçesi araştırılarak durum tespitleri ortaya konulmuştur. Çinilerin belgelenmesine yönelik fotoğraf ve çizimlerle yapının hasar tespit planları da yapılarak koruma önerisi sunulmuştur.
