Abstract²SECMPEG selectively encrypts data to protect MPEG video streams. However, this scheme is inefficient because it encrypts the whole I-frames whose size is relatively larger than B/P-frames. In this paper, we propose a more efficient selective encryption approach which exploits the error propagation property in MPEG2 standard. Our experimental results show that the proposed approach can reduce the execution time of SECMPEG by a factor of 32 without degradation of the security.
Compared to full encryption approaches, selective encryption approaches are known to protect JPEG images from attacks with minimum overhead for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). Since data resulting from DCT transform is correlated with each other, however, the unencrypted data in selective encryption approaches can give attackers some hint for guessing the encrypted data. In this paper, we propose a way to apply full encryption to image transmission over WSNs by offloading the computational workload of sensors to a server. Based on the experimental results, we show that the proposed approach can ensure both the higher security level and the energy-efficiency at a sensor with acceptable image quality.
BACKGROUND Existing digital mental health interventions mainly focus on the symptoms of specific mental disorders, like depression or anxiety. Interventions focusing on maladaptive personalities and interpersonal schemas, rather than symptoms, could be an alternative. Therefore, concise tools for measuring core personality traits and interpersonal patterns known to cause psychological discomfort among potential users of digital mental health interventions are required. Thus, the Maladaptive Personality and Interpersonal Schema (MPIS) was developed. OBJECTIVE This study validates and confirms the psychometric properties of the MPIS. METHODS Exploratory factor analysis was conducted to construct a factorial structure model for this study. RESULTS Exploratory factor analysis revealed a five-factor structure with a total variance of 57%. The internal consistency of each factor of MPIS was good (Cronbach α=0.77-0.88), and the correlations with existing measures were statistically significant. The MPIS is a validated 35-item tool for measuring five essential personality traits and interpersonal patterns in adults aged 18-39. CONCLUSIONS This study developed this tool that can be considered to be advantageous as it was developed for online use and, has the advantage of being easily accessible. Most importantly, based on the results of the MPIS, individualized digital interventions can be recommended that target maladaptive psychological patterns. CLINICALTRIAL This study was a preliminary study of the RCT study and was not enrolled in a WHO accredited trial registry. Also, the study was conducted with the IRB approval from the institution to which the researcher belongs in advance.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
