This is the first report of Encephalitozoon (=nosema) cunieuli infection of rabbits in Turkq. It was accidentally encountered in 4 rabbits and characterized by focal gramdomas in the brain. The granulomas were in different sizes and characterized by glial eell proliferation and mononuclear cell infiltrations. A central area~fnecrosis was also seen in some granulomas. ıHany blood vessels, particularly in areas adjacent to the granulomas showed varying degrees of mononuclear cıiffing. The organisms were identified as pseudocysts in the cerebmm and eerebellum of 2 rabbits, and were readily recognised by their reactions to special stains.
