Schaer, in Ziirich.Die nachstehend zu besprechenden und mitzutheilenden Vereuchsreihen, an deren Ausfuhrung der eine der Verf. in medicinischer, der andere in chemisaher Richtung betheiligt ist, sind, wie a priori bemerkt werden soll, keineswegs etwa in der Absicht angestellt worden, eine Anzahl bedeutsamer wissenschaftlicher Fragen, die durch den Titel dieser Abhandlung sofort nahegelegt werden, von Neuem selbststaudig aufzugreifen und so ein Gebiet zu usurpiren, welches bereits mit erfreulichstem Erfolge insbesondere von E. Baumann bearbeitet wurde und sicherlich noch weiter ausgebaut werden wird.Vielmehr war der Zweck dieser kleinen Arbeit lediglich der, einige auf die Anwendung der Carbolsaure beziiglicher Punkte, wie z. B. die Frage des einfachsten anniihernd quantitativen Nachweises im Harn fur die practisch betheiligten Xreise, d. h. die Aerzte und Apotheker durch eine Reihe von Versuchen, die in der Literatur theilweise noch fehlen, klarer zn legen, nebenbei aber auch diesen Anlass zu ergreifen, um den Angehorigen medicinischer Berufsarten , denen mitt,en in der practischen Thatigkeit eine Vertiefung in die Einzelnheiten physiologischchemischer Untersuchungen nicht zugemuthet werden kann, einen moglichst pracisen und kurzgefassten Ueberblick uber den status quo der Phenol -Frage vorzulegen.
