A succession of Eu3+ activated Na2Y4(WO4)7 (NYW) red phosphors were synthesised and studied their optical properties in details for white LED, latent fingerprint and plant growth applications. The phosphors crystallised...
The present article demonstrates the development of two-dimensional
(2D) assembly of spherical nanocrystals (NCs) in the square arrangement
through the delicate balance between repulsive ligand interactions
and attractive van der Waals interactions of NCs, respectively, instead
of the otherwise stable hexagonal arrangement. The experimental packing
efficiency values matched quite well with the theoretically calculated
square arrangement patterns. The above fact indicates that the formation
of the 2D square arrangement of silver NCs can be explained by introducing
the concept of softness to NCs in the hard sphere model.
Narrow band red emitting phosphors are a critical constituent, and it is still a bottleneck for the next generation smart displays and high-performance lighting (solid state lighting based white light...
Transition metal complexes of phosphine ethers (Ph 2 PC 6 H 4 OCH 2 OCH 3 -o and PhP(C 6 H 4 OCH 2 OCH 3 -o) 2 ) and phosphinophenol, Ph 2 PC 6 H 4 OH-o are described. Phosphine ethers react with Group 6 metal carbonyls to form complexes of the type [M(CO) 4 L 2 ] and [M(CO) 5 L] (M = Mo, Cr, W). The reaction of Ph 2 PC 6 H 4 OCH 2 OCH 3 -o with RuCl 3 AE 3H 2 O gave ruthenium(III) complex, [Ru(Ph 2 PC 6 H 4 O-o) 3 ] through the elimination of CH 3 OCH 2 Cl whereas the reaction with CpRu(PPh 3 ) 2 Cl resulted in the formation of [CpRu(Ph 2 PC 6 H 4 O-o)PPh 3 ]. Treatment of Ph 2 PC 6 H 4 OCH 2 OCH 3 -o with rhodium(I) derivatives resulted in the formation of complexes with the phosphine exhibiting both mono-and bidentate modes of coordination involving the phosphorus center and the phenolic oxygen. The reaction of Ph 2 PC 6 H 4 OCH 2 OCH 3 -o with [PdCl 2 (COD)] led to the isolation of two mononuclear complexes, [PdCl(Ph 2 PC 6 H 4 O-o)(Ph 2 PC 6 H 4 OH-o)] cocrystallized with phosphonium salt, [Ph 2 P(CH 2 OCH 3 )C 6 H 4 OH-o]Cl and [Pd(Ph 2 PC 6 H 4 O-o) 2 ] as confirmed by X-ray diffraction studies. The former shows extensive hydrogen bonding interactions between the complex and the phosphonium salt. The metalloligand, Cp 2 Zr(OC 6 H 4 PPh 2 -o) 2 obtained by the reaction of Cp 2 ZrCl 2 with Ph 2 PC 6 H 4 OH-o form heterobimetallic complexes with Mo(0), Re(I) and Ni(0) carbonyl derivatives. The reactions of Cp 2 Zr(OC 6 H 4 PPh 2 -o) 2 with metal halides such as M(COD)Cl 2 (M = Pd, Pt) and CpRuCl(PPh 3 ) 2 afforded metallacycles, [M(Ph 2 PC 6 H 4 O-o) 2 ] and [CpRu(PPh 2 C 6 H 4 OH-o)(PPh 2 C 6 H 4 O-o)], respectively via transmetallation.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
