We study a novel method to modify carbon nanotubes (CNT) surfaces using hydrogen and develop a composite with epoxy resin. This method is effective for functionalization of CNT surfaces and for chemical and physical interactions with other materials. The C ¼ C/C-C ratio increased until 20 min and decreased thereafter. In addition, the C-O peak decreased until 20 min and increased after 20 min. This indicates that the CNT surface was transferred with H. SEM observation revealed that excellent interfacial bonding is achieved between CNTs and epoxy resin. It affected the mechanical properties to CNT/Epoxy nanocomposite.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
