The agricultural sector poverty in Indonesia is affected by some factors like income and agricultural land area. Farmer exchange rate is an indicator of farmer welfare that can be a measurement of farmer real income. Farmer exchange rate tends to be increased from 2009 to 2013. Besides, the agricultural land area tends to decrease that time. Decreasing of agricultural land is caused by agricultural land usage conversion. This research aims to analyze direct and indirect effects of farmer exchange rate and agricultural land conversion toward agricultural sector poverty in Indonesia, with the objects of 33 provinces in Indonesia (excludes North Kalimantan) from 2009 until 2013. This research is using path analysis to obtain the result, with agricultural laborer variable and agricultural productivity as intervening variables. The result obtained that farmer exchange rate has a direct and indirect effect toward agricultural sector poverty, besides agricultural land conversion has an indirect effect toward agricultural sector poverty.
This research analyzes the dynamics of pro-poor growth in 9 regencies/cities of Bali province from 2007 to 2015. This research identifies pro-poor growth based on Poverty Equivalent Growth Rate (PEGR). The results show that the regions with agriculture leading sector tend to have pro-poor growth in reducing poverty and inequality but antipoor in absorbing labors. On the contrary, the regions with high tourism potential show anti-poor growth trend in reducing poverty and inequality but pro-poor in absorbing labors.
Convergence and divergence of economic growth is a regional economic issue. The concept of convergence occurs when areas with poor economies tend to grow faster than areas with a rich economy whereas divergence occurs otherwise. East Java has a high economic growth but has a high inequality between districts/municipalities as well. Based on the concept of the inverted U-shape of the Kuznets curve, the East Java situation thus indicates that East Java is at the starting point of economic development. Therefore, it is necessary to develop high economic growth with low inequality through acceleration of convergence by knowing the level of convergence of economic growth and acceleration factors of economic growth convergence of East Java. This study uses panel data from 38 districts/municipalities in East Java between 2005 and 2014 by adopting the model Barro & Sala-i-Martin (1992) then the model specification in answering research objectives are sigma convergence, absolute convergence, and conditional convergence. The estimation results show that in East Java economic growth is convergent at a low level so that efforts need to accelerate the convergence that can be reached through 5 (five) development policies, (i) equalization of basic infrastructure such as access equity (ii) equal distribution of energy availability, (iii) equalization of investment, (iv) equal distribution of labor force, and (v) equality of labor productivity
Kata Kunci: ekonomi basis; efisiensi teknik; DEA; fungsi produksi cobb-douglass; pembudidaya bandeng ABSTRACTThis study aims to measure the level of technical efficiency in milkfish farmers and factors influencing milkfish production as a base sector commodity in Pati Regency. The research applied DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) with output oriented assumption and Variable Return to Scale (VRS) approaches to measure the efficiency level of milkfish farmers. It is then analysed by Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) to determine factors influencing milkfish production in Pati Regency. Results showed that the level of technical efficiency of milkfish farmers in Pati Regency was in low level with average number of 7.41. There are 55% of 80 farmers are below average. Furthermore, this research described the efficiency level of milkfish farmers in low, medium and large scale. OLS analysis found that the use of seeds, land area, and distance between ponds and sea have significant effect on milkfish production instead of the use of labour.
Importance of education to economic development and an understanding of households determine the educational services, these makes excellent secondary educational institutions in Malang greatly demanded, but the willingness to pay the cost of education questionable. This study used primary data from a questionnaire completed by 150 respondents, and then analyzed by multiple regression method to measure the value of willingness to pay as well as the dependent variables that influence. The study showed that an average household less willing to pay the cost of excellent secondary education. Income, number of dependents, education and access had a significant effect.
