The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) of nurses is inadequate. Previous studies have not yet described how the suitability of PPE use with the actions taken by nurses. Therefore, in this study will be described how the use of PPE by nurses. The study aimed to identify nurse compliance in using PPE.Methods: This was a descriptive analytic and observation method for data collection. The sample in this study was an action carried out by nurses, in this case the nurse was observed to suit the use of PPE with Standard Operating Procedure (SPO) in the hospital. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling towards 67 actions of PPE using observation sheet according to hospital SPO. Data is processed univariately and presented in the form of frequency distribution. Results: The result showed that, PPE most frequently used in general ward that is gloves, mask, and also apron. The results showed that as many as 54,39% of actions taken by nurses were inappropriate in the use of glove. The use of masks and apron among the nurses is almost entirely correct, only 1 mask error was found. Conclusion: PPI through Infection Prevention Control Nurse (IPCN) should provide socialization and information on the use of PPE in accordance with hospital standard operational procedure. IPCN is expected to be an appropriate role model in the use of PPE, while the head nurse provides motivation and spirit to the nurses to be more compliant in the procedure when using gloves.
Introduction: The nurses’ role within nursing care of tuberculosis patients in hospitals is very important. Nurses problem are preparing nursing interventions in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis rarely use the standard Nursing Intervention Classification (NIC). Independent nursing interventions are not in accordance with the diagnoses established by nurses, so the impact on the implementation needed by patients is not in accordance with the problems occured. Collaborative intervention is mostly carried out by nurses compared to independent intervention. Nurses must arrange nursing interventions based on the standard of nursing diagnoses that are enforced. The objective study was to describe the interventions compiled by nurses at the hospital. Methods: Research design was qualitative research with observational approach. Sample was 100 nurse’s documentastions of pulmonary tuberculosis patient in TB MDR ward. Data analysis used language and text analysis with content analysis. Results: The results research was the highest 10 interventions written by nurses is intervention about observe general condition of patient was 83 times, collaboration with doctor’s therapy was 54 times, give comfort position was 54 times, give therapy was 47 times, check vital signs regulerly was 40 times, give oxigen was 34 times, advise to bedrest was 30 times, teach to effective cough was 25 times, Give position semi fowler was 15% times, and teach to deep breath was 15 times. Conclusion: Nurses must improve their skills and knowledge in preparing treatment plans, because the interventions that have been prepared have not been optimal for dealing with patient problems in hospitals. Interventions to improve patient knowledge and abilities in the management of the disease are important to give to patients.

Introduction: In nursing practice nurses often show less optimal caring interactions because they have overload tasks. The purpose of this study was to describe the caring interactions between nurses and patients. Methods: This study was a descriptive study with a survey approach. The samples were 89 nurses at the inpatient wards who were recruited using purposive sampling technique. The data were collected using the Caring Nurse-Patient Interactions (CNPI-23N) tool and analyzed using a univariate analysis presented in the form of the frequency distribution. Results: The results showed that 84.3% of caring interactions between nurses and patients were good, and the remaining 18.7% were adequate. The dimension of comforting care achieved the highest value in which all respondents (100%) were at a good level. Meanwhile, the dimension of humanistic care achieved the lowest value in which 38.2% of respondents were at an adequate level. Conclusion: This study concluded that the caring interactions between nurses and patients had been well implemented. It is expected that the nursing profession and the hospital management maintain the quality of nursing care and increase the knowledge and training.
