Male facial contouring can be undertaken effectively in the medical aesthetic clinic using dermal fillers and botulinum toxin. Communication is essential as male patients can be more demanding and less accepting of any complications, such as bruising. Male attractiveness is linked to perceived masculinity and facial symmetry. Treatment can be broken down into the correction of asymmetry, followed by rejuvenation and enhancement. The facial aesthetic subunits can be divided into thirds as they would be with a female face; however, more emphasis is placed on the middle and lower thirds of the face to achieve best treatment outcomes. This article provides a practical framework for the treatment of several areas of the male face, with reference to specific injection points.
