Objetivo: analisar os fatores associados a maior tempo entre diagnóstico e tratamento de mulheres com câncer de mama. Método: estudo transversal com dados do Registro Hospitalar de Câncer. Resultado: Das que receberam o primeiro tratamento no hospital, 64,5% foram tratadas em até 60 dias após diagnóstico. Apresentaram maior chance de iniciarem o tratamento após 60 dias as mulheres encaminhadas originariamente por serviços públicos (p=0,001; OR: 2,16; IC: 1,37-3,41) e com estadiamento 0, I ou II (p=0,003; OR: 1,92; IC: 1,25-2,94). Conclusão: Houve fragilidades no atendimento dos serviços públicos. Possivelmente o serviço prioriza o tratamento de mulheres em estágio avançado.
