PPLICATION of organic amendments to soil is an important …….management strategy for enhancing soil fertility and microorganisms. A pot experiment was conducted under greenhouse conditions to investigate the effect of compost and compost tea(CT), mineral fertilization only complete (N 100) and half (N 50) recommended doses of nitrogen or combined with two kinds of compost tea (according to extract methods) molasses compost tea (CT1) and molasses compost tea+ ammonium sulphate (CT2) with three application ratios (v:v) (1:25, 1:50 and 1:75) on NPK uptake of leaf and root of radish (Raphanus sativus), soil nutrient status after harvest, and soil microbial populations. Application of CT1 showed that N uptake of radish leaf was about 30.1% higher than that of CT2. CT1 compost tea also increased P and K uptake by 12.6 and 51.5%, respectively, compared with CT2 application. At the end of experiment, soil N, P and K contents were greater in compost amended soil,whereas N uptake of radish leafand root showed only a significant positive correlation with soil N content in the CT2 + N treatments. The populations of the different microorganisms were greater in CT treatment, and increased with time as well. However, it was found that there was a significant negative correlation between leaf and root N uptake of radish and population of anaerobic N 2 fixing bacteria in soil after harvest.

An experiment was conducted during two seasons 2018/2019 and 2019/2020, cultivated with soybean, at farm Ismailia Governorate, Egypt. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of two treatments (potassium humate and compost tea) at different rates of (0, 2, 4 and 6 ml/L water) with two application methods (soaking and foliar application) on soil fertility and soybean productivity. In both seasons, each experiment was carried out in randomized complete blocks design with four replicates. Data showed that the lowest value of soil pH 7.87 was obtained in the soil treated with foliar application of compost tea at 6 ml/L compared with other treatments. Also, the used of potassium Humate and compost tea foliar application was significant decrease of soil salinity (EC dSm-1), while soaking method was no significant for decrease soil salinity. The different rates of all treatments soaking method to soil gave significant increase of N and P available contents in soil while the foliar application was no significant. As well as, the K available in soil treated with all rates of treatments led to significant increase for soaking. The highest mean values of Fe, Mn and Zn contents in soil treated were with foliar application of compost tea. Compost tea soaking and foliar application increased soybean productivity. The highest values of all growth parameters plants i.e. (plant height (cm), No. of leaves/plant, No. of pods/plant, pods weight (g)/plant, seeds yield (ton/ha) and weight of 100 seed (g) were treated with potassium humate foliar application than all treatments.

Due to water scarcity in arid and semi-arid region there is a need to save each drop of water especially water used for irrigation. This can be achieve using the irrigation scheduling technique that allow to precisely calculate the crop water requirements and adding them when needed. The experiment was carried out to compare the ETc values (FAO method) and Crop-R method basically based on climatic data with the exception that Crop-R uses soil moisture probe for providing real data information. The two methods were applied under field condition irrigated by center pivot system of Potatoes crop (Solanum tuberosumsp.) grown on a new reclaimed soils in Wadi El-Natroun, Egypt. To study the water use efficiency (WUE) and yield productivity of potato during growing seasons 2019/2020 Comparing the two irrigation methods results showed that Crop-R method surpassed ETc values method in terms of water use efficiency (WUE), maximum plant height, yield and number of irrigation events. Values of WUE, maximum plant height, yield and numbers of irrigation events for ETc were 8.31 kg m-3, 60 cm, 31.60 Mg ha-1 and 56, respectively. Whereas, for Crop-R the values were 10.30 kg m-3, 60 cm, 32.66 Mg ha-1 and 53, respectively. The results of this study encourage the use of Crop-R method since it allows save water, maximizing the yield and reducing energy due to minimizing the number of irrigation events, to achieve profitability and ultimately sustainability.
