A reabilitação com implantes em área estética deve ser interdisciplinar, restituindo de maneira eficaz a estética e a função. É um tratamento que exige grande perícia, pois é influenciado por diversos fatores como: posição do implante, quantidade de osso, dentes adjacentes, qualidade e quantidade de tecido mole. Paciente do gênero masculino, sofreu traumatismo alvéolo-dentário no elemento 11, o que resultou em reabsorção da raiz deste dente e deficiência óssea horizontal na mesma região. Foi realizado tratamento endodôntico, porém o tratamento definitivo foi realizado com etapa ortodôntica de extrusão lenta, para que concomitantemente ao movimento dentário obtivesse acompanhamento do tecido periodontal e ósseo. Posteriormente foi realizada a extração cirúrgica atraumática do dente, e feita a instalação do implante na técnica de carga imediata. Na tentativa de aumentar a quantidade óssea horizontal, e a fim de que o implante ficasse inteiramente em contato com osso, foi realizado enxerto ósseo na região, utilizando hidroxiapatita de origem bovina (Bio-Oss) e a colocação de membrana (Bio-Gide) como barreira para evitar a migração das células do tecido conjuntivo para junto do implante. Foi realizado o condicionamento gengival, e a reabilitação protética. O paciente está satisfeito com a condição estética e funcional estabelecida.
Os tumores odontogênicos ceratocísticos são neoplasmas císticos benignos, originados do remanescente da lâmina dental. Possuem ação proliferativa, grande potencial de destruição local e tendência para a multiplicidade. O diagnóstico deve ser realizado baseado em aspectos clínicos, aspectos radiográficos, e exame anatomopatológico, a fim de estabelecer o o diagnóstico final. Esse trabalho relata o caso da paciente T.N.R, gênero feminino, 44 anos, com história de lesão radiolúcida unilocular, com expansão e rompimento de cortical óssea em corpo mandibular entre as raízes dos dentes 47 e 48. Foi realizado tratamento prévio para remoção da lesão em outro Serviço, com recidiva. Sendo assim optou-se pelo tratamento em dois estágios: biópsia incisional e instalação de um dreno para descompressão da lesão e, em um segundo tempo, enucleação do cisto e exodontia dos elementos 47 e 48, com aplicação de solução de Carnoy no sítio cirúrgico, na tentativa de evitar nova recidiva. A paciente encontra-se em acompanhamento, sem queixas funcionais e/ou estéticas. Os exames de imagem de controle da paciente mostraram neoformação óssea na região.
A impactação dental é comum em pacientes ortodônticos, caso o dente permaneça incluso, ou semi incluso, pode acarretar em diversas consequências: mau posicionamento vestibular ou lingual do dente impactado, migração de dentes vizinhos, perda da extensão do arco, reabsorção dentária interna, reabsorção radicular externa do próprio dente ou de dentes adjacentes, formação cística e infecção. Os tratamentos ortodôntico-cirúrgicos são empregados como uma tentativa para reposicionar o dente no arco dentário evitando a extração, principalmente se o dente em questão possui grande importância estética e/ou funcional para o devido equilíbrio e harmonia do arco dentário. Paciente F.N.A, gênero feminino, 12 anos de idade com presença do dente 37 incluso em posição horizontal foi submetida a ulectomia e instalação de um dispositivo ortodôntico para tentativa de tracionamento e verticalização desse dente. Foi realizada a colagem de um tubo na face vestibular do elemento 37 e utilizado um fio ortodôntico com memória elástica para o tracionamento. Após a fase inicial da mecânica, o dente verticalizou mas não irrompeu. Uma nova cirurgia foi realizada para trocar o posicionamento do tubo, a fim de direcionar a força para extrusão do dente. O dente irrompeu e encontra-se em perfeito alinhamento e função oclusal.
