The distribution or delivery process is one factor that affect customer satisfaction as the goal of supply chain. In order for supply chain to be competitive in competition, delivery time is an important factor to manage, so that it could provide high service level value. One factor that could affects distribution or delivery is distribution center location. A strategic distribution center location would facilitate and speed up distribution process. This research discusses model for determining location of distribution center so that delivery could be made at the right amount and in the right time by analyzing of time-based using set covering model and maximal covering model. The numerical example in this research is case study on paint supply chain in Bandung which has a number of delivering clusters. Each cluster consists of a number of building material stores which are located scattered. There is one cluster that has problems in fulfilling demands and delivery times. The analysis made could be used to determine the distribution center location so that it could serve all consumer demands. Based on the calculation results, it was found that there were two distribution center locations. Two distribution centers could fulfill the objective function of cost minimization and satisfy all demands. The results of the sensitivity analysis show that there are several factors that influence the determination of location number.
The Two-Stage Transportation Problem (TSTP) is a model of product transportation in the supply chain. The transportation starts from the factory to customers through a distribution center (DC), which considers the fixed cost of opening a DC, the transportation cost per unit from a certain factory to a certain DC, and the transportation cost per unit from a certain DC to certain customers. This study develops a model by allowing direct delivery from the factory to the customer. From the numerical example given, the proposed model that allows direct delivery from the factory to a customer could result in a total distribution cost that is minimized to the initial model. Both models were compared with calculation using Lingo 19.0. The model developed is expected to provide options and consideration for the management to determine the right distribution and logistics strategy for their products.
Kelurahan Sukawarna is one of the public facilities provided by the government to deliver service to the community within Kecamatan Sukajadi. To provide good service, one good way that can be done is to improve the knowledge and skills of ASN and LKK at Kelurahan Sukawarna. Currently, they use Microsoft PowerPoint, but some of them have only a low level of mastery, so the use of Microsoft PowerPoint in supporting their work is not optimal. Therefore, lecturers from the OSI expertise group and students carried out community service activities in training on the use of Basic Microsoft PowerPoint for ASN and LKK at Kelurahan Sukawarna. Considering the current Covid-19 pandemic, the training was conducted online using the Zoom Cloud Meetings application. The training was held for two days. On the first day, participants were given training material about using Microsoft PowerPoint, namely the File, Home, Insert, Design, Transitions, and Animations features. On the second day, training evaluation was carried out by giving assignments to the participants. Based on the assessment results of assignments, it can be seen that the participants made assignments well. The features taught in training had been used well in the assignments. The training benefits ASN and LKK at Kelurahan Sukawarna in improving their knowledge and skills in using Basic Microsoft PowerPoint. With this improvement, it is hoped that they can deliver better service to the community, e.g., socializing the prevention of Covid-19 and so on.
