A many‐body theoretical scheme based on the functional Schrödinger picture method is formulated for the study of a dilute Bose gas system. The standard ground state properties are obtained by solving the infinite dimensional Schrdinger equation variationally with a Gaussian trial wavefunctional. It is shown that a shifted Gaussian trial functional enables us to calculate a higher order correction of order na3, which corresponds to the fluctuation constribution from the condensate.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
