In this paper, is a metacyclic 2-group of positive type of nilpotency of class at least three. Let be the set of all subsets of all commuting elements of of size two in the form of where and commute and each of order two. The probability that an element of a group fixes a set is considered as one of the extensions of the commutativity degree that can be obtained by some group actions on a set. In this paper, we compute the probability that an element of fixes a set in which acts on a set, by conjugation.
In this paper, G denotes a non-abelian metabelian group and denotes conjugacy class of the element x in G. Conjugacy class is an equivalence relation and it partitions the group into disjoint equivalence classes or sets. Meanwhile, a group is called metabelian if it has an abelian normal subgroup in which the factor group is also abelian. It has been proven by an earlier researcher that there are 25 non-abelian metabelian groups of order less than 24 which are considered in this paper. In this study, the number of conjugacy classes of non-abelian metabelian groups of order less than 24 is computed.
In this paper, Ω denotes the set of all subsets of commuting elements of G in the form of (a, b), where a and b commute, |a| = |b| = 2. The probability that a group element of G fixes a set is one of the generalizations of the commutativity degree that has been recently introduced. In this paper, the probability that an element of a group fixes a set for semi-dihedral groups and quasi-dihedral groups is found. The results obtained are then applied to graph theory, more precisely to the generalized conjugacy class graph.Mathematics Subject Classification: 20P05, 20B40, 97K30
Let G be a finite non-abelian group and let Ω be a set of elements of G. Let A be the set of commuting elements in Ω, i.e A = {v ∈ Ω : vg = gv, g ∈ G}. In this paper, we extend the work on conjugate graph by defining a new graph called the orbit graph, denoted as Γ Ω G . The vertices of Γ Ω G are non central elements in Ω but not in A in which two vertices of Γ Ω G are adjacent if they are conjugate. Some graph properties are provided. Besides, the orbit graph of dihedral groups and quaternion groups is determined.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
