Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa, constituída por cinco etapas, com recorte histórico entre 2008 e 2018, que mapeia evidências científicas acerca do uso do Facebook por migrantes e refugiados como dispositivo para expressar o processo de migração. A pesquisa utilizou as bases de dados Scopus e Taylor & Francis Online. Para cada base científica foi estabelecida uma estratégia de busca, a partir da combinação de descritores controlados e palavras livres. A validação dos termos utilizados foi feita com base nos Descritores em Ciências da Saúde (DeCS) e na American Psychological Association (APA). Após a aplicação dos critérios de inclusão, a amostra foi composta por sete artigos. A análise dos dados foi realizada por meio de análise de conteúdo. Os resultados evidenciaram que o uso do Facebook é essencial para o processo de migração e refúgio antes, durantes e depois do deslocamento. Ele se mostrou um dispositivo indispensável, junto com o smartphone e a conectividade com a internet. Mesmo com dificuldades inerentes ao processo, em geral, migrantes conseguem manter as conexões ao longo de todo percurso e também após a chegada no país de destino. As informações oriundas das redes são utilizadas como parâmetros para o planejamento das rotas e a tomada de decisões, bem como a manutenção dos laços familiares, preservação da cultura e a construção de novas redes que permitam a inclusão social no contexto do país de acolhida. Além disso, constituem instrumentos de denúncia, resistência e luta por direitos humanos.
