RESUMO Os ftalatos são um grupo de compostos químicos derivados do éster ftálico utilizados como aditivos para deixar o plástico mais maleável, como brinquedos e utensílios infantis. O INMETRO estabelece como critério de aceitação do limite de ftalatos utilizado na fabricação de artigos infantis, menor que 0,1% em massa de material plastificado. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo realizar a determinação dos teores de plastificantes ftálicos em brinquedos como bonecas e mordedores. Empregou-se os procedimentos descritos na ABNT NBR 16040, começando com a fragmentação de cada amostra com espessuras mínimas, em seguida foram peneiradas e pesadas em balança analítica. Realizou-se a extração dos plastificantes através do método de Soxhlet, utilizando diclorometano como solvente. Após retirado o extrato, levou-se para leitura em cromatógrafo gasoso com detecção por ionização de chama (CG-FID). O resultado indicou que dentre os 6 (seis) ftalatos analisados, sendo eles o ftalato de dibutil (DBP), o ftalato de butilbenzil (BBP), o ftalato de di(2etil-hexil) (DEHP), o ftalato de din -octil (DNOP), o ftalato de diisononil (DINP) e o ftalato de diisodecil (DIDP), apenas o DEHP foi encontrado nas duas amostras, assim reprovando a boneca de acordo com os resultados obtidos pela análise, levando em consideração os critérios de aceitação do INMETRO.
