One area that has seen rapid growth and differing perspectives from many developers in recent years is document management. This idea has advanced beyond some of the steps where developers have made it simple for anyone to access papers in a matter of seconds. It is impossible to overstate the importance of document management systems as a necessity in the workplace environment of an organization. Interviews, scenario creation using participants' and stakeholders' first-hand accounts, and examination of current procedures and structures were all used to collect data. The development approach followed a software development methodology called Object-Oriented Hypermedia Design Methodology. With the help of Unified Modeling Language (UML) tools, a web-based electronic document management system (WBEDMS) was created. Its database was created using MySQL, and the system was constructed using web technologies including XAMPP, HTML, and PHP Programming language. The results of the system evaluation showed a successful outcome. After using the system that was created, respondents' satisfaction with it was 96.60%. This shows that the document system was regarded as adequate and excellent enough to achieve or meet the specified requirement when users (secretaries and departmental personnel) used it. Result showed that the system developed yielded an accuracy of 95% and usability of 99.20%. The report came to the conclusion that a suggested electronic document management system would improve user happiness, boost productivity, and guarantee time and data efficiency. It follows that well-known document management systems undoubtedly assist in holding and managing a substantial portion of the knowledge assets, which include documents and other associated items, of Organizations.
A food system is composed of a complex network of activities and processes for production, distribution, transportation and consumption, which interact with each other, thus leading to changeable behaviour. Most existing empirical studies on cassava processing have focused on the technical efficiency analysis of the cassava crop processing techniques among processors indicating that the modelling of the events and operations involved in the processing of the cassava crop is highly limited. In this context, different strategies have been used to solve difficult environmental and agro-informatic systems model-based problems such as system dynamics, agent based, rule-based knowledge and mathematical modeling. However, the structural comprehension and behavioral investigation of this modeling are constrained. In this regard, formal computational modeling is a method that enables modeling and simulation of the dynamical characteristics of these food systems to be examined. In this study, the system specification is designed using Unified Modelling language (UML) to show the structural process and system design modelled and simulated using Coloured Petri Net (CPN), a formal method for analyzing the behavioural properties of complex system because of its efficient analysis. For the purpose of observing and analyzing the behaviour of the cassava food process, a series of simulation runs was proposed.
The paper presents the design, simulation and evaluation of an improved obstacle avoidance model for the lawnmower. Studies has shown that there has been few or no work done has on the total minimization of computational time in obstacle avoidances of land mower. Sample image data were collected through a digital camera of high resolution. The obstacle avoidance model was designed using the Unified Modelling Language tools to model the autonomous system from the higher-level perspective of the structural composition of the system. Automata theory was used to model two major components of the system, which are the conversion of the colour image to binary and the obstacle recognizer components by neural network. The model was simulated using the and evaluated using the false acceptance rate and false rejection rate as performance metrics. Results showed that the model obtained False Acceptance Rate and False Rejection Rate values of 0.075 and 0.05 respectively. In addition, the efficiency of the proposed algorithm used in the present work shows that the time taken to avoid obstacles was faster when compared with another existing model.
This study was carried out to study the existing paper-based system of receiving information and managing international student’s information at the Office of International Programme (OIP), University of Ibadan and to design an only student information management system that will help the OIP in managing international students’ information efficiently and effectively. Agile Methodology was adopted. System analysis was carried out in order to collect factual data, understand the process involved in the old system, identify problems and recommend feasible suggestions for improving the functioning of the system. In studying the existing system (paper-based), direct and indirect techniques were used in obtaining data for the analysis of the system. The problems of the existing system were identified and Online Student Information Management System was considered a possible solution to the problem of the existing system. The new system provides quick and efficient storage and retrieval of information from the database. The software used to design the new system includes XAMPP server, JavaScript, PHP, Cascade Style Sheet, HTML, and MySQL. The new system was evaluated by twenty-five (25) users, using Information System Model parameters such as usefulness, perceived ease of use/user-friendliness, performance and security. The overall performance of the new system was satisfactory as it helps all users to efficiency and effectively performs their various tasks based on their level of access in the new system. The new system was deemed suitable for use and therefore, it was recommended for implementation.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
