The body size of patients is considered to have an impact on the quality of bowel preparation. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of body mass index (BMI) on bowel preparation and prediction of unprepared patients who underwent colonoscopies. A retrospective study was undertaken with data retrieved from health records at the Center for Gastroenterology and Hepatology in Sulaymaniyah City of 12,527 colonoscopies carried out between February 2012 and December 2018. From the 12,527 records, a total of 9,659 colonoscopy examinations were included in this study. The results showed 21.3% unacceptable colon preparations: 15% poor and 6.3% inadequate. Patients with BMI of 25 and greater accounted for 36.1%. No significant association was found between increased BMI with inadequate preparation (odds ratio [OR]: 1.104, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.869–1.401, p value .418 and OR: 0.988, 95% CI: 0.813–1.201, p value .903). However, inadequate preparation could be associated with underweight females, who report constipation, and the elderly. Although there has been shown to be in practice an adverse bias toward patients with a high BMI, this study has shown that an increased body size does not interfere with the quality of bowel preparation or resultant colonoscopy.

Background and aim: the study aims is to assess the level of performance among the scrub nurses concerning the surgical aseptic techniques at the operating room, describe the socio-demographic characteristics of the study sample, and to find out the relationship between the scrub performance and variables of some demographic characteristics such as (age, gender, level of education, marital status, and years of experience in operating room). Materials and method: quantitative design, non-probability (purposive) sample of (70) male and female scrub nurses who worked at three teaching hospitals, which represent vital agencies in Slemani city (Iraqi Kurdistan rejoin), during the period of December 2009 up to the end of September 2010. Data were collected through two types of instruments (questionnaire and observational checklist); the researcher modified the study instrument to investigate the scrub nurses practices in the three teaching hospitals: It was based on extensive review of related literature and studies. The study instruments compressed of seven dimensions which include total of (91) items, the content validity of the instrument was established through penal of (20) experts. Reliability of the instrument was determined through the use of equivalence reliability, Inter-rater (Inter observer) approach, (r=0.91). Data were analyzed through the application of descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. Results: the result of the study revealed that the most of the nurses are middleaged, married female, with a low level of monthly income. The majority of the study sample is institute graduates and they have no long employment in operating room. Most of the study sample has poor skills in scrubbing practices. Furthermore, the study confirms that there is a significant relationship between the economic status and their practices. Recommendations: based on the results of the study, the study recommended that job description have to be legislated to all nursing categories as one of job for better achievement and a periodic in service, educational program for operating room nurses and certified to identify the qualified ones. Further study should be carried out to be recommended to develop operating room work achievements.

Usually supplement is essential and fundamental components for ensure and creating the human body, also drugs seem to survey the life of each individual and ensure the wellbeing for a long life aimed most of illness, but in case nourishment sedate interaction ignored since of information shortage almost it or any reason maybe lead to futile of medicine for the patients or cause life threatening condition because of that, one of the most significant ethical point in every health care setting in the world is patient's safety;  and  the care for patients must be improved in every country to prevent complication of interaction between food and drug. The main objective of this cross-sectional study has been conducted to assess the nurses' knowledge regarding food-drug interaction (FDI) at the intensive care in both of Shar and emergency hospitals in the Slemani city, the data were collected during the period of October up to the end of December. Non-probability, (purposive sample) of 78 nurses at both hospitals, a questionnaire was designed according to literatures and books regarding FDI which contained 25 items, 8 items for demographic characteristics, and 17 items concerning FDI. The validity of the questionnaire was given to a panel of 7 experts, a pilot study was carried out to check the reliability of the questionnaire which determined through the use of stability reliability (test-retest) approach which was estimated as r = 0.81.  The data were collected through the interviewing of the study sample and analyzed through the using of the Statistical Package for Social Sciences SPSS, version 23, and analyzed through the application of descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The findings of the present study conclude that more than half of nurses had low knowledge and none of them had high level of knowledge, also there is no significant association between the levels of knowledge with age, gender, educational level, years of experience and working place. The study suggested extends the knowledge of nurses regarding the FDI, by training courses from clinical pharmacologists.

Background: Diabetic foot is common in the diabetic population; it is one of the most incapacitating chronic Complications resulting in poor disease management. Objective: The study aims to assess knowledge and practice of Diabetic patients, for their foot, and to find out the relationship between knowledge and practice with some Sociodemographic characteristics such as (Age, gender, level of education. Marital Status, monthly income, residential area). Methodology: Descriptive study was carried out at Chamchamal District, with the outpatient of Chamchamal evening Public Clinic and Chronic Disease Control Center, for the period of 15th November 2013 up to 10th of October 2014. To reach the objectives of the present study, a non-probability (purposive) sample of (75) patients with diabetic foot who attend the above center. For the purpose of data collection, a questionnaire was designed of (47) items. To measure the validity of instrument the researcher exposed the instruments to (16) experts. A pilot study was carried out to check the reliability of the questionnaire. Data were collected through the use of interview, and were analyzed through the application of descriptive statistics. Results: Results of the study revealed that there was a significant relationship between Knowledge and practice by level of education and monthly income and there was also a significant relationship between practices by Occupation. Conclusions: Diabetic patient's knowledge was deferent level in education and monthly income, and diabetes practice was deferent level in level of education, occupation, and monthly income in a statistically significant manner. Recommendations: The study recommended that Patients with diabetic foot need ongoing educational programs in order to increase their knowledge and understanding in addition to regular evaluation of self-care skills by the diabetes educator. Formal diabetes education programs, generally conducted by diabetes nurses and nutrition specialists, are often very effective and training nursing personnel regarding management of physical and psychological problems of patients is essential to increase their knowledge and practices skills.

Background and aim: North American Nursing Diagnosis Association (NANDA) is one of Organizations of Nursing in the world to developed nursing process, NANDA began in 1973 by Kristine Gebbie and MaryAnn in Clearinghouse for Nursing Diagnoses-established at (St. Louis University) to develop a diagnostic classification system (Taxonomy) and to identify and approve nursing diagnosis, while the first conference proceedings edited by Gebbie and Lavin are published.The objectives of the study are to assess the knowledge of fourth class students of nursing colleges in Kurdistan Region regarding Nursing Process, to describe the demographic data of the study sample, to know the Source of student's information, and to determine which college of nursing be the first in the rank. Materials and method: A descriptive (cross sectional) study was carried out at the colleges of nursing / universities of Kurdistan Region. The study started at 10/3/2015 up to the end of December 2015. To achieve the objectives of the study, a non-probability (purposive) sample of all forth class students of colleges of nursing. Data were collected through the use of constructed questionnaire, which included of three parts. The content validity of instrument was established through penal of (7) experts. Reliability of instrument was determined through the Internal consistently reliability, (r=0.81). Data was collected by (Self-Report) method, using the questionnaire formal and data was analyzed by the application of descriptive and inferential statistical method. Results: The result of the study indicated that the highest percent of the students was female graduated from secondary school, and they have an intermediate level of knowledge, while the findings of the study indicated that most of student's information's sources were from their teachers. On the other hand the study findings were showed that there was highly significant relationship between student's knowledge and their demographic information. Recommendations: the study recommended that the teachers of nursing at the colleges and schools in Kurdistan rejoin have to focus on the Conference proceedings edited of (NANDA), farther more nursing process must teach by nursing specialty teachers not physicians.
