The performance analysis of the biomass briquette stove has been carried out. The research was conducted with three variations of stove wall materials (clay, steel, and aluminum) and with several variations of shell diameter of the burning chamber (140mm, 150mm, 160mm, 170mm, and 180mm). The fuel used is coconut shell briquettes. The results showed that the maximum fire temperature of clay, steel, and aluminum stoves was obtained, respectively 798℃, 617℃, 508℃ and thermal efficiency of 73.66% for clay followed by a steel stove of 38.98% and the lowest is obtained on an aluminum-based stove, which is only 11.49%. Furthermore, the diameter of the shell optimum is 180 mm for clay, 160 for steel, and 170 for aluminum.
The use of local bamboo biomass bricket is very effective and eficient to be used as an alternative fuel. This reasearch aimed to (1) evaluate the proximation and calor value of three types of local bamboo based on the variasi jenis bambu, (2) to determine therma efficiency of the bamboo charcoal bricket. This research applied experimental method by using three types of material through efficiency evaluation on the bricket stove. The result of experiment on the comparison of calor value was found that bricket type B1 (Petung Bamboo) has the highest calor value as 5176,333 cal/gram, B2 (Wulung Bamboo) has the value calor as 4873 cal/gram, and B3 (Apus Bamboo) has value of the calor as 5025 cal/gram. Meamwhile, the result of burning experiment on the stove showed that B1 (Petung Bamboo) is the best in terms of the ability to boil water for five (5) times by thermal efficiency l in the amount of 56,91%.
Biomass fuel is an alternative energy source used in the form of briquettes using clay stoves. Utilization of clay as a briquette stove often results are not satisfactory as is the use of other fuel stoves, this is because the amount of air in the furnace burning chamber has not been determined and focused properly, so the purpose of this study is to determine the thermal efficiency of the furnace at variations in the diameter of the aluminum sleeve in the furnace burning chamber. The method used is to test 5 variations in diameter of the furnace burning chamber (cylinder). The results showed the best thermal efficiency was obtained at 52.87% at 180 mm slab diameter, boiling time at 9 minutes, with a heat loss of only 2.02 kW.
Studi Eksperimen Limbah Buah Pinus Sebagai Sumber Energi Alternatif Ditinjau Dari Variasi Butiran. Dibimbing oleh Dosen Sallolo Suluh, ST., MT. dan Ir. Petrus Sampelawang., MT. Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) Mengetahui kemampuan nilai kalor pada briket arang buah pinus ditinjau dari variasi butiran (2) Mengetahui efisiensi thermal pada briket arang buah pinus ditinjau dari variasi butiran. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode eksperimental dengan memanfaatkan limbah buah pinus sebagai bahan bakar pada kompor untuk mendidihkan air. Hasil pengujian nilai kalor didapatkan Briket 1 yaitu 5721 cal/gr, briket 2 sebesar 5340 cal/gr dan briket 3 sebesar 5686 cal/gr. Hasil pengujian pembakaran menunjukkan bahwa briket 3 yang paling unggul dalam hal mendidihkan air sebanyak 3 (tiga) kali) dan efisiensi pembakaran sebesar 43,58% disusul briket 2 sebesar 33,18% dan briket 1 sebesar 32,17% .
Many researcher said that emotion or mood can be detected from physiological changes like the heartbeat. In order to measure human heart activity, we were using tools like Electrocardiograph. The changes on human emotion or mood affect physiology. This paper is part of our research that talked about Analysis of Mood State from Heart Signal during Playing Flappy Bird. In this paper, we will explain how we design ECG tools that could measure or detect the human heartbeat especially that affect by mood changes. E-Health Sensor Platform v2.0 and Arduino Uno were used to build this system. E-Health Sensor Platform v2.0 contains several sensors that can measure the biological state of humans such as heart rate, breathing, skin conductance and many others. This device can operate when connected with Arduino Uno as a microcontroller. Arduino uno role as a liaison between the Platform and the PC via a serial port. We were using C programming languange on Arduino Uno. 100 Hz were sett in programming code so we can read all data from ECG sensor clearly. To visualize the heartbeat signals we were using KSTPlot. This system has successfully read the heart signals of 20 participants. Although there is signal noise but it does not affect the data. The noise can also be removed with a filter.In our next study, the raw data will be analyzed using the HRV method, but this will be discussed in another paper.
